We are strategically located in the heart of the country at our 2-acre site in Solihull by Birmingham Airport. This is where we operate SYC2J and process all the vehicles. We have a number of satellite branches located in other parts of the country and now offer a nationwide collection.
Our team and customer focus ethos is really what sets us apart from the rest. Our Aspiration
We aim to provide our service in every major city and surrounding locations in the UK. We currently operate numerous branches in and around the West Midlands and are planning to open many more in the coming years.
Jack had been working for years in the motor trade when he launched Sell Your Car 2 Jack in his parents' annexe
He learnt to buy used cars in the auctions, which he said was a hard learning curve, "but a great education giving me the experienced skill set to start SYC2J."
It wasn’t long before Jack was known as the local expert - and more and more people were coming to him to sell their car from his home town of Solihull.
In February 2015, Sell Your Car 2 Jack took the huge steps of moving in to it's first commercial premises. Granted, they were very humble beginnings, an old chicken shed that was refurbished. Yes when it was warm, it was very, very warm, and when it was cold, well, it was freezing!
The business really started to go from strength to strength at this point though, and Jack was joined by his first full-time member of staff.
With business at the Solihull branch thriving, and another member of staff on board, Jack noticed there was more and more demand coming from the Redditch area. It was an ideal time to branch out and a cupboard in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre carpark made a perfect location for a satellite office.
A few months later, the branch opened and was instantly a huge hit with the people of Redditch. It's perfect and prominent location was ideal for the business.
Having outgrown the chicken shed, the business needed to up-size and moved to a used car showroom at Mason's Way in Olton.
Quirky building layouts aside, this was a big step up for the business. Not only did it's large carpark enabled a bigger number of cars to be purchased and stored, it also allowed for the expanding team to be based here at one time, on occasions hosting up to 6 car buyers at a time.
In 2020, with two branches thriving, it started to become clear that there was a demand for a second satellite branch, a third in total, in the Tamworth area.
When a similar opportunity to that of the Redditch branch, another carpark cupboard - this time at the Ankerside Shopping Centre in Tamworth, it was a perfect opportunity.
What wasn't perfect, was the unexpected global pandemic... Covid 19. Just as everything was about to open, all business had to be put on hold.
When the doors were finally open though, Ankerside proved to be a very popular site for people in Tamworth looking to sell their cars.
With three branches thriving and business going from strength to strength, Jack and the team outgrew the main branch in Solihull and the opportunity of a new, purpose built HQ became available.
In June 2021, new Solihull branch at Bracey's business park - the old Bracey's Garden Center - was ready to move in. Whilst there's still lots of work to be done on the site, it's a perfect home for the growing team now well over double figures.
When the opportunity presented itself to launch a branch in the birth town of William Shakespeare - Stratford Upon Avon - it was too good an opportunity to pass up.
With quick refit and rebrand, our Stratford Upon Avon branch opened in June 2022 and was a near enough instant success.
Whilst the plans to open in Banbury's Castle Quay Shopping Centre took a while to finalise, we were really proud of the result!
Not only was this our first branch INSIDE a shopping centre, it's also our first branch with a digital screen for customers to enter their car details on the branch window using cutting edge technology.
In May 2023 we launched a new look website along side a new custom built CRM to help manager our clients.
24 months in the making our powerful CRM tool allows us to give customers the most accurate valuation as well as helping our staff stay on top of day to day tasks!
In June 2023 we opened our brand new branch in Wolverhampton at the Wulfren Shopping Centre.
Once again we turned what was essentially a small cleaning cupboard in the car park in to a well equipped functioning office.
To go alongside this expansion we also hired a new car buyer based in Wolverhampton.
During 2023 the opportunity arose to open a branch in the car park at Touchwood Shopping centre in Solihull.
Ideally placed next to the escalators entering the shopping centre, our purpose built office is has an area in front for our car buyers to undertake appraisals whilst customers can sit back, relax and enjoy a cuppa in our cosy office.
Jack’s Story
Hi, I’m Jack and I started Sell Your Car 2 Jack in 2012. I started buying cars when I was 20 years old in 2008, traveling the country buying cars from auctions and different online platforms. Although a difficult time, plenty of mistakes made and £1000’s of pounds lost it taught me the fundamental lessons of the car trade that were essential to the success of of Sell Your Car 2 Jack. Between 2010-2011 I started to research the market in private individuals wanting to sell their car, but were facing numerous problems trying to get a fair price and fast... it just wasn’t a simple task. Now I know I was not the first person to start a car buying service, however I thought if I could offer a great price, quickly with a 5* experience locally together with some strategic marketing Sell Your Car 2 Jack was born.
From a single car buyer...
I started the business at my parents house in Solihull, I did a lot of learning about this market place quickly, not only car buying but business strategy, marketing and creating trusted connections and customers from the local area. Over the next 3 years I perfected the marketing strategy, built my connections, become trusted and recommended not only in the local area but the West Midlands and in 2015 I rented my first unit and employed my first member of staff. From this point on the business really kicked on, quickly growing my team and having to move to a bigger location in 2019 due to the increasing volume of cars we were buying and opening our second branch in Redditch, some 25 minutes away from Solihull.

We now have a team of 20+ people with 5x locations in the West Midlands.
